What we set out to achieve
Install 450 linear metres of 300mm to 600mm diameter storm sewer piping
Construct 8 precast concrete manholes and 14 catch basins with proper grate assemblies
Achieve connection to the existing municipal storm main at the property boundary
Meet strict municipal inspection requirements for pipe grade, bedding, and compaction

Completed utility locates and confirmed conflict-free routing for the storm sewer alignment
Excavated trenches to depths ranging from 2.0m to 4.5m using shoring systems for worker safety
Installed 450m of PVC storm pipe ranging from 300mm to 600mm diameter on granular bedding
Set 8 precast manholes with rubber gasket connections and benching, plus 14 catch basins
Performed granular bedding placement and zone backfill with mechanical compaction in 300mm lifts
Conducted mandrel testing and CCTV inspection on all pipe segments to verify installation quality

Obstacles we overcame during the project
Encountered an unmapped Bell conduit crossing requiring emergency redesign of pipe alignment at Station 3+20
High groundwater at the deep end required continuous dewatering with 3 wellpoint pumps
Tight site access between existing buildings required careful sequencing of material staging and truck access

All 450m of pipe passed mandrel testing and CCTV inspection with zero deficiencies
Municipal inspector approved the full installation on first review with commendation for workmanship
Dewatering system prevented any groundwater-related delays despite water table challenges
Project completed on schedule and $15,000 under the contracted budget due to efficient operations
