Our Process
Scope of Work
for durable and high-performance installation.
Site Evaluation & Ground Preparation
We start with a detailed site walk and grade assessment, checking soil type, access, existing slope, and where water naturally wants to travel. This early step determines whether we need cut/fill balancing, subgrade stabilization, or drainage additions before the base goes in.
Design Planning & Layout
Next, we set the footprint and elevations based on the court type (basketball, pickleball, tennis, or multi-sport). We confirm orientation, safe run-off space, and the direction of fall so water moves off the playing area instead of settling into low spots.
Excavation & Base Installation
This is where most “pretty courts” fail later and where we focus. We remove organics/topsoil, excavate to spec, and build an engineered compacted granular base in lifts for long-term stability. For many builds, we also incorporate a geotextile separation layer to reduce mixing and maintain base integrity.
Drainage & Surface Preparation
Drainage isn’t optional — it’s the difference between “great for one season” and “great for years.” We use precise grading (often laser-guided where required) to achieve a controlled fall, and we can add solutions like perimeter underdrains or French drains when site conditions demand it.
Edge Restraints & Finishing Work
We install edge restraints/curbing where needed to lock the base in place and keep lines crisp over time. Final compaction and tolerance checks help ensure consistent play performance and cleaner surface installation.
Final Grading & Site Restoration
When the build is complete, we restore surrounding grades, clean up disturbed areas, and leave the site tidy and ready for the next phase (surfacing, coatings, fencing, hoops, or nets).
